There are a lot of people out there getting paid a whole lot of money to tell people and businesses what they should be doing online. From designing new websites to creating new mobile apps to building & managing Facebook pages, agencies and executives are busy doing the latest and greatest.
Now, it doesn’t matter if you hire some a multi-million dollar agency who just worked with McDonald’s or Wal-Mart, or you simply call that number on that sign you saw on the side of the road, what they all neglect to tell you is how what they do for you is going to increase your revenues, or reduce your costs, or improve customer loyalty. If what you do online doesn’t do at least one of those things, never mind all of them, what’s the point?
So, the next time you call the number on that sign or watch some agency’s PowerPoint on Skype, ask them these four (4) questions:
- How is what you propose going to make me money, or at least save me money?
- How is what you propose going to keep my customer’s coming back?
- How is what you propose going to help my customers talk about me to their friends?
- How are we going to know that all this is actually working?
If they can’t, or worse, won’t, answer these questions effectively, then you can’t, or at least shouldn’t, waste any more of your time or money with them.
